What is the difference between an independent escort and an agency escort?
Independent Escorts work for themselves and are in business by themselves and handle their own advertising, screening, booking and finances. Basically if you are an independent you're out there completely on your own if something goes wrong. (More info on the levels of this business here)
What kind of clients/people use escort services?
You would be surprised to know that all kinds of people from all walks of life use escort services. All men and women have needs that can be met from the different services available from companions. It is important to point out that different independents and agencies advertise, cater to and attract different social classes.
How safe is escorting?
The safety of the escort companion varies. If an escort is working independently, then they only have themselves to rely upon for safety. When an escort works for an agency that screens efficiently, then they have the support and safety of the agency backing them.
If you work for an Agency how much do they take ?
There is a misconception Agencies take part of "your money". This is not technically correct. The client belongs to the Agency NOT to you. Here are the facts:

Agency fee's can run from 50% to 60% it depends on the agency, the market and what level you are operating at in the escort industry hierarchy. There are no "hard" rules in this area and always keep in mind it's not all about money. How much is your safety worth to you ?
Do I have to look like a model to be an escort?
Absolutely not! Escorts are needed in all categories meaning sizes, shapes, colors and looks. Client’s are looking for escorts in a wide variety of looks and needs fulfillment. Some agencies have beauty/fashion/image consultants that will work with you to enhance your features and help you achieve attractive looks. It also depends upon the area, market and target audience the Agency is markets to. Some agencies specialize in certain looks, body types or services.
I am worried about my photos being online. Will my photos be recognizable?
This depends on the agency or advertising design you decide to go with. Some agencies that are more upscale and sensitive to the identities of their associates, will provide photos for their clients where the face is either blurred or cropped. A reputable agency understands and enforces the need for associates to retain anonymous identities.
I have never done this before, What kind of experience do I need?
Starting out it is best to find a safe and reputable agency that will teach and train you from the basics up. You really do not need any experience. If you are considering this for the first time, no experience is actually preferred.

Reputable agencies prefer no experience because independent or previous experience with perhaps a bad agency that may have had poor practices usual teach's you negative patterns or behaviors.

If I am accepted to the interview stage, Is it confidential?

The rewards are endless if you take the path of an intelligent, well educated person would. Research the different agencies, find one that is safe and has a reputation for quality screening, apply and go from there. Most of all, you have to love what you are doing and you have to just try it!

Is it true Agencies only hire certain kinds (types) of women ?

Yes and NO, both answers are correct.
Yes - Agency owners hire what their clients demand. Like any other business why would you stock your shelves with a product MOST of your customers refuse to buy? The straight up no sugar coated truth is the majority of clients are white males 25 to 50 plus with an income of 60k and up. As a rule that demographic prefers what they know. If they go for "ethnic" women through an Agency the trend is to pay as little as they can. This is why ethnic women tend to do better with Yellow Pages based companies than with the high end Internet agencies. It's not that the Agencies don't want ethnic women on staff, the issue is once you get passed a certain per hour price level, clients tend not to pay. The problem is the men, not the agency. An agency will only hire what they can successfully market. Please keep in mind this is subject to the market conditions and may not be completely true in all areas.
As a business trend women of color who are exceptionally beautiful can operate above the $ 300.00 per hour level however your chances of achieving this is considerably better as an independent in most markets.
NO - Some agencies will hire anyone they can get and just throw it all out there and hope something sticks. However, in those circumstances many of their workers many not get a call for weeks or get sent to gentlemen who would prefer someone else. This creates a rather volatile situation and can be dangerous for the escort. Be wary of any agency that is NOT selective. If they want to hire you after one phone call and put you to work that night without further interview, run like hell ! If their that lax in their hiring, they are equally as lax in screening their clients !
When I interviewed with an Agency the owner made it clear I would need to sleep with her to get the job. Do I have to ? I was always told you don't do that.

Actually..... No.
Models as a rule are full of themselves and most agency owners end up firing them. It's your girl or woman next door who has the better long term performance.
It is true the most popular women (requested) is the five foot to five foot four inch blonde at 100 to 120 pounds. However, brunettes, redheads and others do well if you have personality and you are height weight proportionate.
Larger women tend to do better as independents or with lower bargain price agencies. There are men who like larger women however they are probably only about 20% of the total market which means 80% of men are not interested, if they are paying for it. Then only if it doesn't go beyond a certain price threshold.
